🦒Noah’s Animal Parade
60 sec
SAY“The rain is coming! Noah needs every animal on the ark, two by two.”
Everyone finds a partner next to them and stands beside their chairs. (A group of three is fine.)
Call out an animal and let each pair move like it in place for 10 seconds: elephant stomps, kangaroo hops, snake wiggles, penguin waddles, monkey scratches.
SAY“Rain!” Everyone pats their legs faster and faster.
SAY“The door is shut!” Every animal sits down inside the ark (their chair).
📖 Noah obeyed God and brought the animals into the ark two by two (Genesis 7:7–9).
🔨Build the Ark
1.5 min
SAY“God asked Noah to build a giant boat. Let’s build it!”
Saw the wood (push your arm back and forth), hammer the nails (fist on palm), and lift heavy boards over your head.
The rain begins: tap your fingers on your knees, then pat faster for 40 days and 40 nights.
Send out the dove: flap your hands up high. It comes back with an olive leaf. “Woo-hoo, dry land!”
Everyone draws a giant rainbow in the air with one arm, then sits down and whispers, “Thank you for keeping Your promises.”
📖 Noah built the ark as God commanded, and after the flood God set a rainbow in the cloud as a sign of His promise (Genesis 6–9).
🎺Jericho Silent March
1.5 min
SAY“The Lord told the Israelites to march around Jericho without making one sound until Joshua told them to shout. Can you march without a sound?”
Everyone stands beside their chair and marches in place silently. Count six days on your fingers, one quiet march for each.
Day seven: march in place while you count seven times around, holding up a finger for each one.
The priests blow their trumpets: hands to your mouth, “Toot-toooot!”
The teacher says “Shout!” Everyone gives ONE big shout. Then the walls fall: crumble slowly down into your seat and end with hands in your lap.
📖 The Israelites marched in silence, shouted when Joshua told them to, and the walls of Jericho fell down flat (Joshua 6:10, 20).
🪨David’s Slow-Motion Sling
60 sec
SAY“Everything happens in SUPER slow motion. If you go fast, you rewind!”
Kneel by the brook and pick up five smooth stones, counting each one slowly into your shepherd’s bag.
Stand up tall. Load one stone in your sling and swing it over your head… slowly… slooowly…
Let it go! Follow the stone with your eyes all the way across the room.
Everyone does a slow-motion “BOOM” as the giant falls, then a slow-motion cheer and a slow-motion sit.
📖 David trusted the Lord, not his size, when he faced Goliath with a sling and a stone (1 Samuel 17:40–49).
🐋Jonah’s Big Swim
1.5 min
SAY“Jonah tried to run away from the Lord on a ship. Uh-oh, here comes a storm!”
Rock side to side on the stormy ship while the wind blows: “Whoooosh!”
Splash! Jonah goes into the sea. Swim in place: front crawl, backstroke, doggy paddle.
GULP! A great fish swallows you. Curl up small in your chair and whisper a prayer: “Please help me.”
After three days, the fish spits you out onto dry land. Pop up and march in place toward Nineveh to do what the Lord asked.
📖 Jonah prayed inside the great fish, and the Lord gave him a second chance to obey (Jonah 1–3).
🔥Elijah’s Fire from Heaven
60 sec
SAY“Elijah built an altar and told the people to pour water all over it. Not once. Three times!”
Lift a heavy water jar over your head and pour: “Sploosh!” Again! And again!
Everyone crouches down low and folds their arms while Elijah prays.
FIRE FROM HEAVEN! Jump up with your arms high and wiggle your fingers like flames: “Fwoosh!”
The people fell on their faces and said the Lord is God. Everyone sits down quietly and whispers, “The Lord, He is God.”
📖 Elijah prayed, and the Lord sent fire from heaven to show that He is the true God (1 Kings 18:30–39).
🦁Daniel’s Lions: Roar, Then Hush
60 sec
SAY“You are hungry lions in the den, and Daniel just got thrown in!”
Show your claws and give your best lion roar, but only while the teacher’s hand is up.
The teacher says “Angel!” and every lion snaps its mouth shut and freezes.
Roar again, a little quieter… “Angel!” Freeze. Each roar gets softer.
Last time, the lions curl up like sleepy kittens in their chairs, heads down, purring softly. Daniel is safe.
📖 Daniel kept praying, and God sent His angel to shut the lions’ mouths (Daniel 6:22).
🌊Part the Red Sea
60 sec
SAY“The Israelites were trapped with Pharaoh’s army behind them and the Red Sea in front of them. Then Moses stretched out his hand.”
Everyone presses their palms together in front of their chest. That’s the water.
A strong east wind blows: “Whoooosh!” Slowly push your hands apart into two tall walls of water.
March in place on dry ground between the walls. Look left… water! Look right… water!
Safe on the other side! Shake a pretend tambourine like Miriam did, then sit down.
📖 The Lord parted the Red Sea so the children of Israel could walk through on dry ground (Exodus 14:21–22).
🍞Gathering Manna
75 sec
SAY“Every morning in the wilderness, bread from heaven covered the ground like frost. It was called manna!”
Days one to five: crouch beside your chair and gather manna into a pretend basket, one day at a time. Count each day together.
Day six: gather twice as much! Scoop fast with both hands.
Day seven is the Sabbath, and no manna is on the ground. Everyone sits down, folds their arms and rests quietly for 10 seconds.
Whisper: “It tasted like wafers made with honey. Mmm.”
📖 The Lord fed Israel with manna every morning, sent twice as much on the sixth day, and sent none on the Sabbath so they could rest (Exodus 16).
🌍Seven Days of Creation
1.5 min
SAY“Let’s show how the world was made, one day at a time!”
Day 1, light: hands start closed, then burst open. Day 2, sky and water: wave your arms high, then low.
Day 3, land and plants: crouch like a seed and grow into a tall tree. Day 4, sun, moon and stars: make a big circle, then twinkle your fingers.
Day 5, fish and birds: swim with your hands, then flap your wings. Day 6, animals and people: be your favorite animal, then stand tall as a child of God.
Day 7, God rested: everyone sits down, hands in lap, eyes closed, for five quiet breaths.
📖 God created the light, the land, the plants, the animals and His children, and then He rested on the seventh day (Genesis 1:1–2:3).
🪜Jacob’s Ladder Climb
60 sec
SAY“Jacob was traveling and slept outside with a stone for his pillow.” Everyone rests their head on their hands and snores softly.
In his dream, Jacob saw a ladder reaching all the way to heaven! Stand up and climb in place: hand, hand, knee, knee, higher and higher.
Angels were going up and down the ladder: reach up high on tiptoes, then squat down low. Up… down… up… down.
Jacob woke up and knew the Lord was there. Sit back down quietly and whisper, “The Lord is in this place.”
📖 Jacob dreamed of a ladder reaching to heaven, and the Lord promised to be with him wherever he went (Genesis 28:10–16).
👂Samuel, Samuel!
75 sec
Everyone is young Samuel, asleep at the temple. Sit and lay your head on your hands, eyes closed.
The teacher whispers: “Samuel!” Everyone pops up, hops in place three times (running to Eli), and says, “Here am I!”
The teacher says: “I didn’t call you. Lie down again.” Back to sleep.
Do it three times, each one quieter than the last.
The fourth time, everyone sits up tall, cups a hand behind one ear and whispers, “Speak, I’m listening.” Stay perfectly still and listen for 10 seconds.
📖 When the Lord called young Samuel, he learned to answer, “Speak; for thy servant heareth” (1 Samuel 3:1–10).
🛁Naaman’s Seven Dips
45 sec
SAY“Naaman was very sick. The prophet Elisha told him to wash in the Jordan River seven times. Naaman thought that was too simple, but he obeyed!”
Stand beside your chair. Pretend the river comes up to your knees.
Dip down (squat) and pop back up, counting out loud: 1… 2… 3… 4… 5… 6…
On 7, pop up extra high and check your arms: “I’m healed!”
Sit down and give a thumbs-up for obeying, even when it’s something small and simple.
📖 Naaman obeyed the prophet, dipped in the Jordan River seven times, and was healed (2 Kings 5:9–14).
💪Hold Up Moses’s Arms
60 sec
SAY“While Moses held his arms up high, Israel was winning. When his arms got tired and came down, they started losing.”
Everyone raises both arms high. The teacher counts slowly to 20. Getting heavy?
Aaron and Hur came to help! Turn to a partner and gently hold up each other’s elbows.
Keep them up until the sun goes down: the teacher slowly lowers one hand like a sunset.
When the “sun” touches the table, arms float down and everyone sits.
📖 When Moses’s arms got tired, Aaron and Hur held them up until the sun went down, just like we can help each other stay strong (Exodus 17:10–12).
🧍Stand Tall, Don’t Bow
60 sec
SAY“King Nebuchadnezzar made a giant gold statue and told everyone to bow down to it. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego would only worship God.”
Everyone stands beside their chair. The teacher gives quick commands: “Hop!” “Touch your nose!” “Wiggle your fingers!”
The trick: when the teacher says “Bow to the statue!”, stand tall and fold your arms. Don’t bow!
Mix in the tricky command every few turns, faster and faster.
Finish: the king saw a fourth person in the fire keeping them safe. March out of the furnace in place, sniff your sleeve (no smoke smell!) and sit down.
📖 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego would not bow to the golden image, and the Lord protected them in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3).
👑Esther’s Brave Walk
60 sec
SAY“Queen Esther needed to ask the king to save her people, but going to the king without being called was dangerous. First, she fasted and prayed.”
Everyone folds their arms and bows their head for three quiet breaths, like Esther getting ready.
Stand up tall like a queen or king. Take three slow, brave steps in place toward the throne. Freeze!
The king (the teacher) holds out a pretend golden scepter (a pencil works). Everyone breathes out in relief.
Reach out one finger to touch the tip of the scepter, bow gracefully and sit down without a sound.
📖 Esther fasted, prayed and bravely went to the king, who held out his golden scepter to her (Esther 4:16; 5:2).
🧱Nehemiah’s Wall Builders
75 sec
SAY“Jerusalem’s walls were broken down. Nehemiah and the people worked together and rebuilt them in just 52 days!”
Pick up a pretend heavy brick from the floor (“Oof!”) and pass it to the person beside you. Grab the next one and keep them coming.
Stack bricks in front of you, higher and higher: knees, waist, chest, shoulders, over your head!
Smooth the mortar with both hands: “Swish, swish.”
The wall is finished! Everyone high-fives the air and sits down in 3… 2… 1.
📖 Nehemiah and the people rebuilt Jerusalem’s walls in 52 days because they all worked together (Nehemiah 4:6; 6:15).
⭐Count the Stars
45 sec
SAY“One night the Lord took Abraham outside and told him to look up and count the stars, if he could.”
Everyone sits, leans back a little and looks up at the ceiling. Twinkle your fingers and count the stars in a whisper: 1, 2, 3… as high as you can.
SAY“Too many to count! God promised Abraham a family that big, and everyone who makes covenants with God becomes part of it, including you.”
Fold your arms and close your eyes. Think of one person in your family you’re thankful for.
📖 God promised Abraham a family as countless as the stars (Genesis 15:5).
🚶Peter Walks on Water
60 sec
SAY“The disciples were in a boat on a stormy night, and Jesus came to them walking on the water! Peter asked to come to Him.”
Stand beside your chair. Carefully step out of the boat: balance on one foot with your arms out.
Keep your eyes on one spot on the wall. That’s Jesus. Take slow balancing steps in place.
The wind blows! Sway side to side… look down at the waves… start to sink by slowly bending your knees.
Reach up high and say, “Lord, save me!” Jesus caught Peter. Stand back up, climb back into the boat and sit down.
📖 Peter walked on the water while he looked to Jesus, and when he began to sink, Jesus reached out and caught him (Matthew 14:25–31).
⛵Peace, Be Still
60 sec
SAY“Jesus and His disciples were in a boat when a huge storm came up.”
Make the storm: rub your hands (wind), tap your fingers (rain), pat your legs (big waves), stomp your feet (thunder).
Rock side to side in your seat as the boat tosses on the waves.
The teacher stands, holds up one hand and says, “Peace, be still.” Everyone freezes instantly.
Stay perfectly still and silent for 10 seconds. Then whisper: “Even the wind and the sea obey Him.”
📖 Jesus said, “Peace, be still,” and the wind stopped and the sea became calm (Mark 4:37–41).
🌳Zacchaeus Climbs Up
60 sec
SAY“Zacchaeus was a short man, and he couldn’t see Jesus over the big crowd.”
Crouch down small. Try to see: stand on tiptoes, hop in place, stretch your neck.
Climb the sycamore tree: hand over hand, climbing in place. Look down from your branch!
The teacher reads what Jesus said: “Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.” Climb down fast and do one happy hop.
Sit down and say together: “I’ll give half to the poor!” Zacchaeus chose to change right away.
📖 Jesus saw Zacchaeus in the tree and went to his home, and Zacchaeus chose to change (Luke 19:1–10).
🌴Hosanna Parade
45 sec
SAY“When Jesus rode into Jerusalem, a huge crowd came out to welcome Him!”
Wave palm branches high over your head: left, right, left, right.
Take off a pretend coat and spread it on the road for Jesus to ride over.
Say “Hosanna!” three times, getting softer each time: HOSANNA! Hosanna. hosanna…
Sit down and wave your branch one last time in slow motion.
📖 The crowds waved palm branches, spread their clothes on the road and shouted “Hosanna” when Jesus came into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:8–9; John 12:12–13).
🐟Pass the Loaves
60 sec
SAY“A boy shared his five loaves and two fishes, and Jesus fed thousands of people with them!”
Hold up five fingers (loaves) and two fingers (fishes).
Pass a pretend basket: take a piece of bread and pass the basket to your neighbor. Keep it moving down the row and back, fast!
Rub your tummy: “So full!”
Gather the leftovers: scoop up crumbs and count 12 baskets together out loud, then fold your arms.
📖 Jesus blessed a boy’s five loaves and two fishes and fed about 5,000 men plus women and children, with twelve baskets left over (John 6:9–13; Matthew 14:21).
🗿Freeze Statues
60 sec
Everyone stands beside their chair. When the teacher says “Wiggle!”, wiggle everything: arms, hips, fingers, even eyebrows.
When the teacher says “Statue!”, freeze completely. Nobody is out. The goal is the best statue in the room.
Call out statue ideas: a superhero, a sleepy bear, a tree in the wind, a baby taking a first step, a prophet teaching.
Want music? Launch Freeze Dance on your phone or tablet and freeze whenever the music stops.
Last statue: the reverent statue. Sit down and fold your arms.
🪞Mirror Me
60 sec
Stand facing the class. Say: “You are my mirror. Do everything I do, at the exact same time.”
Start slowly: raise one arm, tilt your head, make a funny face, touch your nose.
Speed up a little, then slow way down.
Choose a kid who is mirroring really well to be the leader for 15 seconds.
End by slowly sitting down, folding your arms and closing your eyes. The mirrors do it too.
🤫Silent Seat Switch
45 sec
SAY“Without making one sound, switch seats if…” and finish the sentence.
Ideas: “…you have a sister.” “…you like pizza.” “…you’ve been baptized.” “…you had cereal for breakfast.”
Kids who match stand up and tiptoe to a different empty chair. No talking, no bumping, walking feet only.
If anyone makes a noise, everyone freezes and silently counts to three before the next round.
Last round: “…you are ready to learn!” Everyone switches one more time and stays seated.
🫨Shake-Out Countdown
30 sec
Stand up. Shake your right hand five times while everyone counts down: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Now your left hand five times. Right foot five times. Left foot five times.
Do it again with four shakes each, then three, then two, then one, getting faster every round.
Finish with one giant shake of your whole body, then sit down and freeze.
🍿Popcorn Pop
45 sec
Everyone crouches beside their chair, curled up small like a popcorn kernel.
The teacher “turns up the heat”: kids start to wiggle and shake.
One by one, kids pop up with a jump and a “POP!” until every kernel has popped.
Sing “Popcorn Popping” (Children’s Songbook, 242) while you pop, if your class knows it.
Melt like butter back into your seats.
🌲Tall Tree Balance
45 sec
Stand beside your chair. You can rest one hand on the chair back if you need help balancing.
Lift one foot and rest it against your other ankle. Raise your arms like branches.
SAY“A gentle breeze!” Sway slowly. “A big wind!” Sway more, but keep your roots down.
Switch feet. Can anyone close their eyes for five seconds?
Your roots grow down into the ground: slowly sit.
🐌Slow-Motion Morning
60 sec
SAY“Everything we do now happens in super slow motion.”
Act out a morning in slow motion: wake up and stretch, brush your teeth, eat a bowl of cereal, tie your shoes.
Then some recess: kick a soccer ball, shoot a basket, catch a football, all in slow motion.
Try slow-motion faces too: surprised, laughing, sneezing.
End with a slow-motion sit-down that takes five whole seconds.
↔️This or That Lean
45 sec
Everyone stands with feet planted. Point left: that’s “This.” Point right: that’s “That.”
Ask a this-or-that question: “Pizza or tacos?” Kids lean all the way left or right without moving their feet.
More ideas: dogs or cats, summer or winter, beach or mountains, pancakes or waffles, soccer or swimming.
Last one: “Standing up or sitting down?” Everyone who picks sitting down wins, and sits!
👏Echo Clap
30 sec
Clap a short rhythm (clap-clap, clap-clap-clap). The class claps it back exactly.
Mix in leg pats, finger snaps and quiet stomps.
Make the patterns longer and faster, then slower and softer.
Finish with one tiny clap and hands folded in laps.
🪢Invisible Jump Rope
45 sec
Stand beside your chair and pick up your invisible jump rope.
Jump in place while the class counts to 10. Now on one foot. Now the other foot.

Sit down and ask: “What does CTR stand for?” (Choose the Right!)
🙆Heads, Shoulders Speed Round
45 sec
Stand up and sing “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” (Children’s Songbook, 275), touching each body part.
Sing it again faster. Then super fast!
Now sing it in slow motion with a deep, slow voice.
Last round: no singing at all. Just whisper and touch, then sit down.
⛄Melting Snowman
60 sec
Stand tall and round like a snowman: stick arms out, cheeks puffed.
SAY“Here comes the sun!” Slowly melt: first your head droops, then your shoulders, then your arms, then your knees.
Melt all the way down into your chair like a puddle.
You can sing “Once There Was a Snowman” (Children’s Songbook, 249) slowly while you melt.
Whisper “drip… drip… drip,” then stay completely still and quiet.
🚀Rocket Launch
45 sec
Crouch beside your chair with your hands together over your head like the tip of a rocket.

Float in outer space: move in slow motion with drifting arms and legs.
Come in for a landing: slowly, slowly sink into your seat.
Whisper: “Touchdown. Mission complete.”
🤝Pass the Squeeze
45 sec
Everyone sits in a circle or a row and gently holds hands with the people beside them. (Linking pinkies works too.)
The teacher starts a gentle squeeze. When your hand gets squeezed, squeeze the next person’s hand.
Watch the squeeze travel all the way around in total silence.
Try it with eyes closed. Then send two squeezes in a row.
When it comes back to the teacher, everyone lets go and folds their arms.
💃Chair Dance Party
45 sec
Stay seated. You can only dance from the waist up: shoulders, arms, head, fingers.
Play music (or launch Freeze Dance on your phone or tablet) and try moves: the robot, the swim, the airplane, jazz hands.
When the music stops, freeze in your seat.
Final freeze: arms folded and a big smile.

Mix them up faster and faster.
Last one: “Wiggly!” Everyone sits perfectly still.

30 sec
Sit up tall near the front of your chair and hold the sides of your seat.
SAY“The floor is lava!” Lift both feet off the floor and hold them up.
Count together to 10. Feet down for a quick rest.
Try again: can you hold for 15? For 20?
Feet down, arms folded. The lava cooled off.
🔢Number Jumps
45 sec
Stand beside your chair. The teacher holds up fingers, and the class jumps that many times, counting out loud.
Switch it up: 3 claps, 5 hops on one foot, 2 slow turns, 4 knee taps.
Try a math one: “Two plus two jumps!”
Hold up zero fingers: everyone sits down in silence.
🎈Balloon Keep-Up
45 sec
Everyone holds an invisible balloon. Toss it up gently and tap it back into the air.
Keep it up with different body parts: hands, head, elbow, knee, shoulder.
The teacher calls “Windy!” and everyone chases their balloon in place, reaching high and low.
Catch your balloon, hug it gently so it doesn’t pop, and sit down holding it in your lap.
🏟️Stadium Wave
30 sec
SAY“We’re the crowd at a big game. Let’s do the wave!”
Starting at one end of the row, each kid stands up with arms high, then sits back down, one right after another.
Send the wave back the other way, faster.
Try a slow-motion wave, then a silent wave.
End with the smallest wave ever: just wiggle your fingers in your lap.
